This CPD lecture explores the assessment and evidence-based management of proximal hamstring tendinopathy, integrating current research with practical clinical reasoning. Drawing on systematic reviews and controlled trials from the broader tendinopathy literature, the module examines how progressive loading strategies, movement analysis, and patient education can be combined to optimise rehabilitation outcomes.
The lecture also addresses important differential diagnoses, including deep gluteal syndrome and lumbar-related posterior thigh pain, ensuring clinicians can recognise red flags and make safe clinical decisions.
In addition to reviewing the research, the module discusses how osteopathic principles and manual therapy may be integrated alongside exercise-based rehabilitation to support functional recovery and restore load tolerance.
